Naval Aviator

Fred recieved his wings on Friday, February 22, 2008. He is officially a Naval Aviator. What is the difference between a Naval Aviator and a pilot? Well, the aviator doesn't just fly the helicopter, he utilizes it as a weapon in defense of our country.

Fred will be stationed in Norfolk, VA flying the SH-60S NightHawk. The Sierra model is deployed aboard a ship. It has two missions- troop transports and vertical replenishment (VERTREP) but can also perform search and rescue (SAR).

Fred will be moving to Norfolk (which is right next to Virginia Beach) by March 31. We will keep you updated on the details.
