History was made today

President-elect Obama made history today!! I can't wait to see what changes are just around the cornor... AND this gives me hope for the future!! Just think how far we have come as a country in the past 50 years!!!

I have a confession....I have to admit I voted for McCain. I thought Fred would be safer with McCain because he had more foreign policy experience, and he proved he was a man of character by his 5 years as a POW. Keeping Fred safe was all that mattered to me. However, the American people have spoken and I am ready to stand by Obama. He was never in the Navy...he didn't attend the Naval Academy...he was never a pilot...but maybe he has the right heart to do the job.
I read a newsweek article which made me feel more optimistic about the impact Obama will have on our foreign policy. http://www.newsweek.com/id/167355
A Case for Barack Hussei by Ahmed R. Benchemsi- a special guest columnist
"An Obama presidency would change the way the Middle East see America"
In other news...Fred came back on Saturday, from two weeks of SERE school (survivor training) in Maine. He camped out in the woods, ate rabbit stew and spent time in a mock "POW" camp.
On Monday, Fred started at his new squadron. He was told that he will start his deployment on November 2009 until most likely June 2010.
I have about a month left of classes, which end on Dec 3, then two weeks of finals and Christmas break from Dec 18-Jan 3. Fred and I hope to take a week off during the break for our honeymoon.
